College Counselor Maureen Delaney

Maureen loves her work.  She joins students to explore and cultivate greater self-awareness, then guides each to make a plan and craft genuine personal narratives they take pride in.  Her work enables student ownership of the college application process, drawing on her skill, knowledge, and extensive experience. With her collaborative approach, Maureen lends clarity to the college search process and helps students navigate from their strongest position.

Maureen takes time to establish authentic connections with families. As an engaged partner, she emphasizes a strong strategic approach in addition to lending clarity to the college process. She inspires a student’s developing narrative as she listens to a student’s growing insight about themselves and identifies each student’s positive attributes.

A Note from Maureen

We work together to help students connect with their goals, tell their stories, and find their paths toward meaningful careers. Students will identify their strengths and explore their options. With a collaborative style, my goal is to lend clarity to the college search process and help students establish their strongest position from which they can more easily navigate the college application landscape.

This process can also be the basis for developing skills for future decision-making. College counseling is about asking questions and creating a structure that not only supports making a college decision, but also stands as a model for addressing important future decisions. Through my work, I assist students in making a series of decisions that prioritize their interests and enhance the strength of their applications.

Through this process, I help students craft a unique narrative that differentiates your student from other applicants. As students navigate the process, visiting colleges, drafting essays, assembling portfolios, and completing all of the many other tasks to submit their applications, they draw on their previous thinking while they apply the new skills they are learning. I believe that an effective college counselor helps students achieve successful results and uses the process to help them move toward personal growth and independence.
